A look at the Tiptoe Cottage guest book.
A really blessed family holiday with three generations staying in this wonderful holiday cottage. We leave with many happy memories. Thank you Jane, for being such a lovely host and for all the extra finishing touches to Tiptoe Cottage.
Thank you for an amazing weekend in the New Forest, the cottage is beautiful and in a great location. We walked straight out of the back gate into the Forest to Burley. Thank you for the recommendation.
Beautiful cottage wit an excellent host - thank you Jane - you had thought of everything. We'd love to return.
Lovely Peaceful little cottage, great location. Thoughtfully stocked with everything a family could need.
Lovely Peaceful little cottage, great location. Thoughtfully stocked with everything a family could need.
Such peaceful surroundings! Children loved the garden and sightings of horses on teh forest.
Our second visit to Tiptoe Cottage and it was as lovely as we remembered. Well located for lots of day trips and activities with our children, and the house has everything you need.
Thank you Jane for letting us discover Tiptoe Cotttage, we loved it, Fabulous lunch at The Pig. Little Max just loved the ride on tractors and the horses outside the back gate. A much needed relaxing break.
A Fantastic house for children with a lovely garden for them to run around in. We've had a lovely peaceful stay and feel like we've had a proper rest.
This has been an excellent place for Christmas and New Year with our international family with plenty to do and an exciting forest to explore.
A wonderful cottage, in a wonderful place. Well equiptd, child freindly, cosy and a true home form home. Well suited to all ages. We all look forward to returning soon.
We would like to thank you for such a wonderful Christmas that we have spent in your cottage. The children absolutely loved it and were busy all the time. It is amazing the amount of details the house has. We were doing some excursions around the area and we discover again how beautiful the New Forest is.
Thanks for a fantastic stay at your lovely cottage. The cottage is so comfortable and the equipment meant we were able to travel a little lighter than usual! The kids loved all the toys and we really enjoyed spending time playing in the cabin. The kitchen is really well equiped and meant we had no problems cooking for 8 on New Years Eve. We had a chef come and cook for us from the Granary Kitchen and he also commented on how well stocked the kitchen was. His food was fantastic too!
Thank you for such a lovely stay in fantastic and cosy surroundings. Kids all had a blast and was a very restful stay for mum and dad too! How lucky we were to go out and about in the daytime knowing what a homely environment we would return to. Jimmy even managed a full birthday breakfast on our last day. Thanks again.
Zora (5) loves the swings. Iggy (9) loved crabbing even more than he thought he would - especially when he discovered the crabs loved raw lardons. Daddy (40+) enjoyed cycling the the Deer Sanctuary and 'wild' boule in the garden. Mummy (40+) loved all the outing recommendations courtesy of Jane - long days of fun followed by cosy nights by the fire in this wonderful cottage. Thank you. We hope to return soon.
Had a wonderful stay. Appreciate all the little things. Great holiday, the brownie mix and apple cake was so nice.
Such a wonderful stay in this cosy cotage, the perfect location. We will miss our evening walk in the fields to look at the ponies. Saw so much but needed another week, it all went so quickly. Thank you for the brownie mix - what a treat!
We've had a lovely week and the weather has been amazing for early October. We've visited everywhere, but could do with staying an extra week! The brownie mix was a treat and Laurence (2) enjoyed making them with Grandma! He particularly liked the owls at Liberty's. The New Forest is the perfect place for a relaxing break.
We love the New Forest and this lovely cottage is in an idyllic spot. We enjoyed watching the ponies from the gate and went riding at Ford Fram Stables. Thank you for the great food and treats. My daughter especially enjoyed making the chocolate chip cookies. I'm sure we will be back in the future.
Thanks for a great stay. The cottage is lovely, fully equipped and great for our little one. We hope to be back!
Thank you Jane for a fantastic mini-break at Tiptoe Cottage. It was a lovely warm welcome to arrive to a fully stocked fridge and all the delicious treats. You've made a terrific job of the cottage and gardens and my son Maxi (4) and his cousin Noah (4) loved the power shower and having a sleepover with the very neat fold-out bed. Also first time horse riding for the boys at Ford Farm Stables which was a hit, as was the direct access to the forest for den building adventures. Cosy fire, good quality gin and tonic (we've money in the honesty box) and top notch groceries from the farm shop. Thank you for thinking of everything.
We've had a lovely time at Tiptoe Cottage. Thank you Jane for all the little treats you left, and for being so helpful. The children have had a wonderful time in the garden and particularly loved our trips to Furzey Gardens and Moors Valley. Beaulieu Motor Museum is a great day out too. We've had a really special week here and will be sad to leave! All the best for the future.
My favourite thing going out was having pancakes at the beach. My favourite thing at the house was playing frisbee. Jack
Thank you for the most amazing week: playing tennis, frisbee, croquet and cricket in the garden, the children using their boogie boards for the first time on Avon Beach, having a beautiful breakfast at the Noisy Lobster and fish and chips at Lymington Quay. We'll take away some very happy memories and will no doubt be back! THANK YOU for all the little extra touches - they are appreciated by everyone - young and old! We loved the treat box and had such fun making the cookies. We've been thoroughly spoilt!!
We've had a brilliant stay at Tiptoe Cottage. It's been made super-easy by having such a well-equipped house (toys, step-up, bed guard and things in the kitchen; oil, washing stuff, flour, teas and coffees). Our top things have been paddling in the rivers, playing on the tree swings, crabbing at Mudeford Quay (the shop has bait and nets),. We recommend parking at Whitefield Moor and following one of the walks down by the river, playing Pooh sticks and paddling. The walk passes Puttles Bridge where the river is next to the car park but busier. Our girls loved the fairy doors at Furzey Gardens. Also close by is the Trusty Servant where we had a lovely lunch. Our favourite pub to eat at was the White Buck (the food on the specials menus was fantastic, as was the chocolate brownie!) We caught 4 crabs and 2 fish. We did the Stick Man trail and we saw lots of fallow deer - at Bolderwood. This was a great walk and we bought a stick man trail which encouraged the girls to complete the 1.5 mile walk. Great picnic / den building area too. Thank you fpr a fab week!
A wonderful, perfect holiday. Tiptoe Cottage is a gorgeous, perfectly stocked and furnished holiday location, with everything a family could possibly need for a magical stay. A beautiful cottage and amazing garden. Archie has adored the playhouse and climbing frame and we have spent much-needed, quality, precious family time here - THANK YOU! Highlights for us have been taking a tractor ride for a red deer safari in Burley (and feeding them corn), Archie's first ever pony ride at Longdown Farm, meandering through the forest to Wootton Bridge for a paddle, greeting the ponies (from a safe distance!) over the back gate each day, glorious beach day at Friar's Cliff (tried the breakfast at the Beach Hut - fab!), ferry ride over to Hengistbury Head and watching the crabbing, and yummy dinners from Danestream. We will be recommending Tiptoe to all our friends and hope to return.
Just perfect! We've had a lovely time at this beautiful place. This has to be the most superbly equipped cottage we've ever stayed at. The boys had a ball playing in the playhouse and the gorgeous garden. Highlights have included looking for fairy doors at the magical Furzey Gardens, taking the little ferry to Mudeford Spit on a glorious beach day, lunch at the White Buck (among other pubs), seeing an otter, kingfisher, squirrel and woodpecker at Blashford Lakes, looking for frogs, snakes, and slow worms at the Reptile Centre, lunch at the tea rooms in Lyndhurst and Holmsley, hangimng out at the Poole Quay on bike night and we're about round off our trip at Beaulieu before heading back to the Netherlands and Manchester. Thank you for sharing your cottage with us. We'll be spreading the word!
Thank you for a beautiful break - we have had the most incredible time. Your house is gorgeous and so well equipped for frazzled parents of babies and toddlers! It's gone too fast but we managed to get lots packed in... Furzey Gardens was magical and had our two year old entranced. Crabbing at Mudeford had the competitive adults occupied for hours! Dinner for grown ups at Verveine was a highlight. Thank you for making the week so special by letting us stay in your perfect corner of the New Forest.
Many thanks from the Long Family - David, Debra, Jack (10) and Sophie (10). We enjoyed everything about the house and garden plus perfect sunny weather. There were endless cartwheels, games and meals in the gorgeous garden. Only sweet dreams at night under star filled skies and sleeping in comfy beds with lovely linen. Thank you for the luscious cake and so many thoughtful touches. The week has flown by with beach days and sailing lessons for the children at Hengistbury Head. Pony riding lessons at Burley Villa twice, Go Ape, walks, and an amazing dinner at The Pig - perfect with children's menu, croquet and room for the kids to run around. We are sad to depart Tiptoe Cottage but have made many happy memories and would recommend this little slice of heaven to anyone. You have thought of everything and everyone!
PS: making cookies was an extra bonus - put us over the top.
We had a wonderful stay here at the lovely Tiptoe Cottage. We much appreciated the thoughtful welcome goodies and the chocolate brownies were enjoyed by all. Our children had a great time playing in the play house and the garden. The New Forest is stunning and we explored Lyndhurst, Lymington, Christchurch and - yes - Peppa Pig World. Avon Beach at Mudeford was perfect - not too far and fun for the children and we enjoyed lunch at the Noisy Lobster. We also had a fabulous time at The Pig at Brockenhurst, which was very family friendly, served delicious food and has lovely grounds to explore. All in all we have had a fantastic holiday and wouldn't hesitate to return another year.
A super week here at Tiptoe Cottage, reallly loved the delightful garden (Matthew has enjoyed countless trips round it on the ride-on tractor, with Lucy in trailor!) and the summer house too! Some great relaxing times here as well as enjoyable trips to Avon Beach, Hengistbury Head land train, Moors Valley Country Park (loved the Stick Man trail!) as well as of course Peppa Pig World where we stayed until closing time!.. Thanks for the lovely stay, especially the treats on arrival - loved the Banana and EGT cake
Had a great week in and around the New Forest villages, the beaches and Peppa Pig World! Loved the cottage and garden. Thank you for the cakes, fry up and hospitality!
Lovely stay in a lovely cottage. It rained quite a bit, but that didn't stop us getting out and about, and the cottage was a fun and cosy refuge to come back to. Enjoyed the cake and the local produce that greeted us when we arrived, thanks Jane!
We had a lovely holiday. I loved pony riding, seeing wild ponies, Peppa Pig World and buying a toy at the farm
A lovely cottage in a serene location. Child friendly, loads of green space, toys and even a pedal JCB kept Nathan very happy! Surprisingly central location for all the normal family fun places, Paulton's Park, Long Down Farm, and for Dad Beaulieu Car Museum. Romantic fires at night in the garden, when the kids are asleep is a must for exhausted parents (bubbly too!!) Thank you for for a beautiful home away from home, will be back!
Thank you for making this cottage so lovely to stay in. We especially loved the garden, plus how clean, organised and comfortable you made the inside. It was perfect for our son who loved trotting around, playing on the swings and climbing frame and making train tracks in the lovely playhouse. He also enjoyed making cookies! eating a Mr Whippy for the first time and going on the ferry to Mudeford. We appreciated the direct access out the back gate to the Forest. We hope to be back again.
What a wonderful place for a family to get together. We have had a delightful weekend. Three generations enjoyed the toys, the books, the games, the garden, the BBQ and the animals and birds. The cottage was very comforable and well equipped. Thank yo for the Welcome basket. Special mention to the ride-on toys in the shed!
Lovely stay, thank you. Very well equipped!
Tiptoe Cottage was just perfect for our long weekend. The house was so welcoming and well equipped. The garden is just lovely and the play equipment thoroughly enjoyed by our grand daughter Evie. Thank you Jane for everything.

We absolutely loved our stay at Tiptoe Cottage. The location was perfect. The gate backing onto the New Forest was lovely and a real bonus. Jane ensured all aspects of our stay were catered for from the bed set ups to having a lovely cake baked for us on arrival! Jane kept in touch in case I had any questions which was really helpful. The cottage was tastefully decorated throughout and really cosy! We will definitely be back!
A beautiful cottage in an idyllic location within the New Forest. We stayed for 3 nights with our 3 young children and there was ample space for us all. The cottage is super cosy and well equipped with all the essential amenities and then some!! The children were kept entertained with the playhouse in the garden and all the board games that were kindly left in the cottage. After a long car journey to the cottage, it was a nice touch to be left with a delicious home made cake and locally sourced ingredients for an English breakfast the next day. The butter was amazing!! We were also left some ingredients to do our own baking. Fantastic host who kept in constant communication. We'd definitely like to visit again!
Very pretty, comfortable and well-equipped cottage. Prior to arrival Jane was keen to make sure everything was set up as we wanted, and provided us with an excellent welcome basket which set us up for a good breakfast. Very helpful local information, and easy access to walking in the Forest. We went to the Saturday market in Lymington which has a number of local food stalls to get supplies for our stay. altogether a great success and highly recommended.
Thank you so very much for our wonderful week in your beautiful cottage. We completely loved everything, notably; Your amazing apple cake! Making up the brownies (what a brilliant idea!). Arriving to a fully unpacked shop. The spendid playroom out in the garden and all the lovely children's books in the basket. The lovely provisions you'd left in the fridge. Your many thoughtful touches have made this a really special place. We very much hope to return.
We had a brilliant New Year break and really appreciated all the little touches. Angus was thrilled by the ride-ons and all the baby gear made it so much easier. We hope to come back and stay in the summer. Thanks for a wonderful stay.
This was a great way to end the year. The cottage was lovely and we really enjoyed bird watching and the playroom. We will be back next year. Thank you very much.
I just wanted to say a massive thank you - we all absolutely loved Tiptoe - and nobody more than Angus who just thought the summer play house was the best thing ever (and the JCB ride on toys were a major hit too!)
We absolutely loved the confidence, quality and style which you have applied in furnishing and equipping Tiptoe. And the extra flourishes in the welcome pack really did make us feel pampered - the curd was demolished by every single person including a couple of initial sceptics, the bun was a daily treat with our late afternoon tea and the brownies were a Granny/Grandson baking triumph. Thank you as well for the various other thoughtful touches, particularly the presents that you left our sons.
We love the New Forest and your little corner of it at Tiptoe is really superb. For the first time ever (why frankly return to a rental house when you could go somewhere new instead has been our logic to this point) we are excited about booking another visit soon.
I hope you enjoyed your New Year as much as we did. And thanks again for such a lovely holiday.
It has been too brief, but we have had a great long weekend in the cottage. Thanks for making it such a home from home. We will be back (as a four) for a longer stay sometime soon!
Quite simply a beautiful cottage and garden in a wonderful location. We have had a ball. Jane's communication pre-holiday was fantastic making life very easy. There were also so lovely, unexpected touches on arrival which added to the 'glow' of being here. We will be back. Many thanks Jane.
A really beautiful house and fantastic garden and playhouse. Boys loved running aroundand exploring. Brilliant location with so many close days out. Crabbing at Mudeford, Bournemouth Beach, Peppa Pig and Paultons Park to name a few of our favourites. Thanks xx
Beautiful cottage very comfortable, we had a lovely stay, great area to explore. Thanks x
A wonderful time here! The children loved running around, exploring the New Forest and local activities. Tiptoe cottage is lovely and our son doesn't want to go home now... Thank you
A really peaceful and beautiful house. It was such a treat to enjoy family time in the gardens and summer house, as well as exploring the surrounding New Forest. Many thanks.
Thank you for making a wonderful week, kids loved it. Lovely cottage felt like our own.
A truly baby friendly bolthole and beautiful hideaway - enjoyed by kids and adults alike. Thank you
Had a fantastic time. Amazing garden, the kids loved it and the playhouse! Very comfortable and enjoyable stay. Hope to be back again soon!
Just perfect in every way - the weather was fantastic, the children made the most of everything the cottage had to offer - the garden is beautiful, 3 full days of outdoor living what more could we ask for! We hope to be back soon!
Wow! We have had a truly amazing holiday at Tiptoe Cottage. Ditto all the other comments. It has been made extra special by all the little touches and personalisation from Jane. We didn't want for anything - everything is here. It is a beautiful area with so much to do. Recommend the White Buck - we went 3 times it was so good! We will spread the word amongst our friends of Tiptoe Cottage. Thank you Jane and family!
Beautiful cottage, lovely garden, loads to do in the area - the perfect place for a family holiday! We all had a great time - happy kids = happy parents! Thanks Jane for accomodating us at short notice and making us so welcome.
We've had a lovely break at Tiptoe Cottage. The house is lovely and everything is catered for. Jane is very welcoming and the kind gestures make it all the more special. My son had a lovely 3rd birthday at Peppa Pig World and we really appreciated the decorations, cake and present that Jane had left for us. Thanks for a fantastic break. My son now wants to convert our shed into a playroom and build a sandpit!
We don't want to go home! We've had a wonderful few days & loved all the little touches; cake, flowers, hamper... The decor, the toys, books, equipment were all perfect. Jane and family's recommendations were spot on. Lymington was great for a showery day, Peppa Pig World, and then a day at the beach with lunch at the Beach House were all as described & everyone had a fantastic time. Thank you for arranging for the blackout blinds to be fitted! And thank you for a lovely stay.
Lovely stay. Beautiful cottage. The boys loved the garden – especially the swings and climbing frame. Lovely playhouse too. We hope to come back soon!
We have had a super long weekend at the cottage and have been very impressed by all the features of the property (including the fire pit, which was a particular hit with Elodie (3) and Ed (36)!). We also had the opportunity to explore the surroundings, go to the seaside and visit Peppa Pig world, Finally we really appreciated being able to depart at 7 pm on our last day, thereby (hopefully) avoiding the bank holiday traffic. We shall be back!
I stayed at Tiptoe Cottage with my two children, Kieran (6), Jaimie (5 months) and some friends. We had a lovely weekend there and really enjoyed staying in what was a very traditional but contemporary cottage. Everything was pristine, and as soon as we arrived Jane had gone to the trouble of filling the fridge with some necessities after a long journey and she had made a vegan chocolate cake for us. All of the rooms were beautifully decorated and comfortable and the furniture even gave us ladies some design ideas for our own homes (thank you Jane). Aside from being a lovely property, Tiptoe was extremely convenient. All the equipment in the kitchen was very straightforward and the provisions made for children were second to none. Every detail had been thought about - there was a very comfortable travel cot, baby changing table, rocking chair and even a steriliser. My daughter enjoyed the rocking chair so much I bought one for our house when we got home. Even the bathrooms were stocked with child-friendly soaps and lotions, just like the ones we have at home. The little outhouse on the cottage grounds was also a hit with my 6 year old who had his own den to hide out in equipped with a tv, books and toys, not-to-mention the swing in the garden with meant hours of entertainment for him and some peace for mum! We have stayed in a few different cottages across the New Forest and Tiptoe Cottage has definitely been the most luxurious. We had such a great time staying there that we are already thinking about when we can plan our next visit, hopefully when the weather improves and we can take advantage of the big garden with a BBQ. Thanks Jane for such a lovely break and all the time and effort you put into our stay.
Well what can we say; Tiptoe Cottage is an absolute dream and perfectly located to explore the New Forest National Park and nearby coastal towns.
Jane had thought of everything including a well-stocked breakfast hamper full of fresh produce. The little touches like fresh flowers, toiletries, fresh cake (baked by Jane) and the fluffy towel robes made for a 5* feel. We felt completely indulged in luxury as we sat in our robes, snuggled up by the log burner sipping our complimentary prosecco.
We walked freely into the open forest from the back gate and came across the wild ponies and felt completely carefree. All in all the perfect romantic break.
We were alone for a quiet weekend for this visit however we are really looking forward to bringing our young children with us next time. The cottage has every need catered to for them including a climbing frame in the garden, a garden room with a TV and toys, DVDs, plenty of space to explore and the best thing is we won’t need to bring the essentials like the highchair, steriliser and travel cot with us. They are all there!
Tiptoe Cottage is absolutely beautiful inside and out - full of British country charm. It is a truly special place to stay!
Thank you Jane
Stunning cottage and beautiful garden! We were very impressed with the attention to detail in all areas – Décor, accessories (particularly baby / child equipment). Wonderful selection of quality toys and games.
Jane has been a very helpful host – great communication and thanks for bringing the measuring tape to help with our Peppa Pig World booking! Thank you for the wonderful base to explore the area – Furzy Gardens was magical!
Beautiful cottage in a lovely location. Our first visit to the New Forest and it won’t be our last. The kids loved the Garden Room, sandpit and climbing frame / swings, and we had a lovely day out at Beaulieu, Moors Valley, Mudeford and (inevitably) Peppa Pig World. Thank you for a lovely holiday!
Cute and cosy, warm and welcoming a wonderful place to spend time relaxing with our closest friends. Thank you for sharing this wonderful place with us.
A beautiful cottage. Particularly child friendly. Life was so much easier having all those extras here you need when travelling with a little one. Jane your décor is stunning – you have given me a few ideas for home! Thank you for a very comfortable weekend.
We spent a wonderful family Christmas 2014 in Tiptoe Cottage. A beautiful house and garden in an idyllic setting, with walks straight out of the back gate onto the forest. With Sway and Burley nearby and a lovely farmshop just 5 minutes drive away with fresh meat, veg and bakery. The house is beautifully decorated and has everything you need for a relaxing holiday including a welcome pack with all sorts of delicious treats. I would recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in the New Forest and look forward to our next holiday there.
A beautiful house in a beautiful location. Thank you for all the extra touches – the cake and hamper were delicious! We hope to return soon!
We could not have wished for more from our first holiday away with baby Harvey. Tiptoe Cottage delivered in everyway and Jane and family made us feel most welcome. A beautifully serene setting and we can’t wait to return to explore in the summer – when Harvey is a little older (and fits in a baby carrier!) THANK YOU
A stunning little cottage, it’s a “home away from home” with magical surroundings. It is cozy and I cannot wait to come back in the summer.
What as beautiful cottage we had a wonderful Christmas lots or lovely walks and wildlife. Thank you.
